The Open Door

The Ansara’s have provided capital funds for expansion of facilities in Gloucester. The four communities of Cape Ann, MA – Rockport, Essex, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Gloucester – epitomize the substantial disparities that exist where pockets of great wealth neighbor pockets of great need. The Open Door alleviates hunger through innovative strategies to connect people to good food, such as mobile markets, community gardens, student meal distribution, and food pantries. It also advocates for food security for the region’s most vulnerable families.
