New Movement to Redress Racial Segregation

Inspired by the book by Richard Rothstein, Color of Law, NMRRS is a civil rights campaign to redress intentional laws, covenants and processes that created housing segregation in America. Local organizers in pilot cities will be trained to investigate their own local histories of segregation, share the research, and conduct educational and direct-action campaigns to create inclusive, well-resourced communities.

"I must remind you that starving a child is violence. Neglecting school children is violence… Ghetto housing is violence… Contempt for poverty is violence."

Martin Luther King, Jr.
