EDEM Foundation
EDEM Foundation works in Haiti’s South Department and on the island of Ile a Vache to create sustainable communities through training and mentoring individuals in agriculture and small enterprise development. On Ile a Vache a Residents’ Council is working with the mayor to develop a tourist welcome center with a public market and restaurant.
Emergency funds donated to EDEM were used to train 15 local masons on earthquake and hurricane resistant construction techniques for use on the island of Ile-a-Vache in the earthquake zone.
