Haiti Ocean Project - Marine Conservation Action Fund of the New England Aquarium
Haiti Ocean Project (HOP) is a non-profit organization based in Petite-Rivière-de-Nippes, in the most southwestern region of Haiti. The primary mission of Haiti Ocean Project is the conservation and protection of high-profile marine life such as marine mammals, sea turtles, sharks and stingrays through education of youth, research and data collection, community awareness, public policy and ecotourism. Since it’s creation in 2007, Haiti Ocean Project has focused on the protection and preservation of marine mammals, sea turtles, sharks, and rays; all endangered in this Caribbean nation.
